Soccer, art, and eSports come together to create a boundary-shattering collaboration! “Game Start! EA SPORTS FC x Artists” exhibition, co-organised by COEXIST, Tencent Games, and EA SPORTS, is bringing a soccer field to G/F Piazza at K11 Art Mall from 19 April to 19 May 2024.
Seemingly disparate realms collide in at the intersection of art, soccer, and eSports as three highly distinguished emerging artists present their creations for the first time in Hong Kong:
● South Korean contemporary artist Jade Kim debuts a life-sized sculpture of his mesmerising character MIN wearing an EA SPORTS jersey. With a stubborn expression, MIN communicates the emotions of competition and sportsmanship.
● Inspired by EA SPORTS FC and his own childhood memories of soccer, Spanish artist Edgar Plans presents the 2.8-metre-tall “little hero” sculpture for the first time in Hong Kong, exemplifying freedom and a fearless attitude with his limitless imagination.
● Italian artist Giovanni Motta’s digital work “Jonny boy” wears the jersey of the legendary Diego Maradona, poignantly expressing both childhood nostalgia and cultural significance of soccer.
